Technology
- Digitized images and hypertext have begun to ease access to
research materials; however, downloading material is itself a selective
exercise and the astute user will remember that the presentation, the
format, and the pathways themselves create a heavily manipulated document
that may reflect faculty or institutional biases. The Department of the
History of Art and the School of Arts and Sciences have
several delivery systems online that are designed to increase the
flexibility of both classroom and extramural study. Among these are Web
pages, search engines, catalogues and digitized images that can be accessed
from remote terminals and in the classroom where projection equipment enables the transmission of
computer screen images in a large format.
